Washington V. DuBois
Booker T Washington was a civil rights activist during the late 1800's who fought for the gradual inclusion of blacks into the culture of America. He is well known for the moving speech that he made that would later be known as the Atlanta Compromise in 1893. While that was going on there was a man by the name of WEB DuBois who wanted instant rights for all black Americans and for the Jim Crow Laws be ridded from the country. He was known as one of the people who founded the National American Advancement of Colored People or the NAACP. These two men hated each other for their contradictory beliefs on how fast they would achieve equal rights for blacks and what they needed to do to earn those rights.
Booker T Washington was well renowned amongst the white leaders during this time because he wanted to teach the African Americans how to do jobs they were aloud to do well. How he did that was create a college named Tuskegee institute that would have devoted programs that would teach vocational skills such as wood works and scientific farming. He was very popular amongst the mass of African Americans because it gave them a way to support their families while black rights movement leaders hated him for his gradual integration beliefs. The basis for all his teachings were that they should have to work to gain their rights.
DuBois on the other hand was having none of what Washington was having with the gradual earning of rights, he believed that the blacks should have immediate rights for all through the belief that they should have already been born with them. He also believed that they should be sending the best of the blacks to the top prestigious schools in America so that they can further the advancement of the African American people. He would also create Howard university which was an all black school which gave its students a quality education. Albeit these two men did not see many things eye to eye they both believed in education for blacks.

How John brown helped cause the civil war

Brown helps cause the civil war
John Brown is commonly known to be one of the leading causes of the event oftenly known as Bleeding Kansas. Although he is also one of the reasons there was so much tension built up between the free and slave states. He is most well known for having murdered a pro-slavery family in Kansas with him and his two sons. Although he took part I. These actions he was also a leader in the abolition movement to get rid of slavery. He lead men to fight for freedom in Kansas through armed insurrection. He was also known to be a terrorist amongst many groups of people in the United States.
He was the leader of a group of his followers and some slaves he had freed to try and take the federal armory located in harpers ferry. This is where he is thought to be a terrorist because he was attacking men who were in no way connected to slavery. This would cause tension amongst the people because the southerners saw it as needing to be even more horrible to the slaves to prevent that from happening. Through this attempt he would also get many of his followers killed and captured by federal forces and then later hung for treason. This was a complete drawback to what politicians were trying to settle things peacefully.
The Kansas Nebraska act was the main reason for Browns actions and the worsening tension between slave and free states. The reason why is because with popular sovereignty they worried that one side would gain an advantage in numbers whether it be slave or free. This act was also good thing except for the fact that the voting was corrupt and fighting ensued for weather or not it would be a slave or free state. This would lead others such as brown to commit horrible acts of violence apon each other such as murder. He would later be seen as a complete nut job but at least what brown was fighting for was a just cause even though It helped lead to the bloodiest act of violence on American soil, The Civil War.

American Renaissance

My favorite work of the Antebellum  Era

The American culture was changed for the better when the Antebellum Era began bringing forth a new found source of nationalism. This was not only shown through art although being a key factor a big part of it was setting ours

The work that most effected me from the antebellum era would most likely be Henry David Thoreau's work "Walden" which describes his life when living next to walden pond. He brings about a very large cultural change in the American Renaissance with the introduction of transcendentalism. Which is brought forth many times in his work such as the belief of individualism and the feeling that nature is all powerful are some of the main pegs in the transcendental culture. This work shows how Thoreau thought that everything man made will rot away while nature is forever and should be preserved. Although I don't personally believe a lot of his points I can see why many view him as a very influential and important person for the growth of the early American culture.

    Current education reforms

Current possible reforms in early childhood education have been studied and researched since the early1960's. Some of these reforms would include the want for an appropriate curriculum for children of different ages and learning patterns. There are other such motives such as the wanting for the creation of  a office made directly for early childhood education. I feel that some of the reforms that are trying to be shown the light of day could be more harmful than helpful such as the core40 that was recent ally put into action harm those who need a harder learning agenda due to the fact they lowered the standards for the students. These actions that have been implemented in the recent decades are more or less a double edged sword with who they help and who they have hurt educationally.

The Baring Land Bridge Theories
The most valid theory about the first Americans in my mind would be the Land Bridge theory because this theory has the most factual evidence proving this theory correct. It is a known fact that Asians came across the bearing land bridge connecting Asia to North America. There are different theories about this theory such as what kind of technology did the Asians bring with them and when did they come to the Americas. These people are the ancient ancestors of the Indians here in America today.
This theory about the what and when the ancient Indians came over states that the Indians came over around twenty thousand years ago with out a lot of technology. In this theory it states that the Indians then created the Clovis point here in America. The reason why is spear points found in the area thought to be the land where the ancient Americans lived in Asia were nothing like the Clovis point found in America. The reason why this is is the structure of the spear points were completely different the ones found in Asia were bone with rock edges where the Clovis points were all stone.
The other theory about the first Americans starts off much much later in history with a completely different premise to that of the theory above. This theory states that the first Americans came over the land bridge around thirteen thousand and five hundred years ago nearly seven thousand year difference between the two. This theory states that the people from Siberia brought with them the Clovis point  from Asia and they had it before they came to America. Both of these theories have bits and pieces of the truth but the real truth probably lies somewhere in between those two theories.
